to
sports, it’s the thrill of victory or the agony of defeat. We’re sure
that
everyone
would rather experience the former. So, we are
calling on all Areas to field in your most worthy
athletes
as we hold another Inter-

18, 2012. It’s the same

sure that your extra shirts
still correspond to your Area colors.
On Fellowship Night. Day
3’s main highlight is the much-anticipated Davies
Fellowship Night entitled “Cartoon
Festival 2012.” Due to the unprecedented response to last
year’s Super Silver Screen Ball, we are taking it to the
next level
this
year with
delegates
coming in as their favorite cartoon character. The categories
are as follows.
v
Ensemble Category: Individual chapters who wish to qualify are expected to observe the following:
o The cartoon
program should have been
aired on television
at least
one season of at least 10 episodes;
o Cartoon
programs aired from the
20th century up
to
the present are
qualified;
o Groups/chapters must have a minimum of 10 characters
from
one single cartoon program;
o There
should be at least 4 main characters
from
the cartoon program,
both protagonist and antagonist, e.g.
He-man
and Teela
with Skeletor
and Beastman for the Masters
of the Universe cast;
o First Place: PhP20,000.00; Second Place: PhP10,000.00; Third Place:
PhP5,000.00
v Dynamic Duo Category: In lieu of the individual category, this
will feature a
pair of cartoon
characters, one “bida” and one “contra-bida.”

program should have been
aired on television
at least
one season of at least 10 episodes;
o Cartoon
programs aired from the
20th century up
to
the present are
qualified;
o Only
the main “hero”
and his main arch-enemy are
accepted, e.g.
Superman
and Lex
Luthor;
o First Place: PhP3,000.00 each; Second Place: PhP2,000.00
each;
Third
Place:
P1,000.00

To ensure
fairness in
judging and a
more
orderly parade, we
will
require the participating groups to register their respective
groups
on Day 1 (April 19, 2012) of the convention. Each group will be given a priority
number for the parade so that you
will be given
a proper introduction.
Those who did not
pre-register their groups will be given last priority
of entry. We will
not allow unruly grandstanding.
Our researchers, in turn, will download
an image of the cartoon the group
chose
which will be flashed on screen to guide the judges on
the
authenticity of your costumes. This way, judges
who are not
familiar with the cartoon program will be enlightened. Moreover, the
theme
song
of the chosen cartoon will be
played during the group’s entry. However, to dispel the notion
of prejudice, we
would
welcome any submission of pictures
or theme song from your
part.
Any
violation of the rules
set by the committee
will merit disqualification of the
group. We
expect the full cooperation and the
utmost decorum of the delegates during the convention.
Thank
you very much and we look forward to having
you on the 38th UAP National Convention this April.
